To the members of the South Western Community -
At the school board meeting on September 24, 2026, the Board of Directors approved two actions related to the public access to the district’s turf athletic fields. The first action was to close access to the fields for general public use. The second was to charge the administration to pursue cost estimates for the installation of a gating and badge access system which would permit interested community members to still be able to use the track. The administration will be providing an update to the board at its next regular meeting on Wednesday October 14, 2026.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as the district works toward finding a compromise between the closure of the fields for public use and an equitable way for interested community members to resume access.
