Dear West Manheim Families, I am writing to send a follow-up to my previous email regarding our summer open library event. I sincerely apologize for a typo in the original message. Please note that the Summer Open Library Night will be held on **Thursday, July 24th**, from 6:00-7:30 PM, not Monday, July 24th. All other details regarding the event remain the same. We are truly looking forward to celebrating with our community and hope to see you there for an evening of fun and engagement, including the ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation STEM center, the unveiling of our new library layout and this year's library theme, "Color Your World," and the opportunity to create decorations for the library. District Volunteers - A reminder to please return your volunteer badge to any building office or the district administration office. We appreciate your cooperation as we will inventory badges and make preparations for next year's volunteers. Please attend the Artist Opening Reception to celebrate the work of this year’s Drawing & Painting 4 studio class. It will be held at the Hanover Area Arts Guild at 32 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331, on Friday, May 16th from 6-8 pm. Stop by at your leisure during this time to visit with the artists.

South Western Robotics Summer Camp. Due to popular demand an additional week has been added. Please sign up now for June 16th - June 20th. The Summer Robotics Camp will be held at the Emory H. Markle Middle School from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The SW National Art Honor Society student members are hosting a Spring Paint Day on Saturday, April 5, at SWHS. For only $20 our instructors will guide you to create your own unique painting! You will receive one 16x20 canvas & an apron for every painter. Sign up by Thursday, April 3.

Schools Closed - Tuesday, January 7, 2025 ---- Due to overnight and early morning weather conditions creating unsafe travel, the South Western School District will be closed today, January 7th. Offices will open at 9:00. Information regarding the makeup day will be communicated to our families later this week. Thank you.

Mustang Families and Staff: [Two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 7, 2025] ---- Due to the forecast for light snow and gusty winds overnight and a threat of a re-freeze of the roads, the South Western School District will be operating on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Should the conditions worsen overnight causing an impact on district operations, we will communicate any changes in our schedule to our families and staff as soon as possible. Thank you.

Mustang Families and Staff: Due to the forecast for deteriorating weather conditions overnight and tomorrow, the South Western School District will be closed to students and staff on Monday, January 6th. All evening activities scheduled for tomorrow have also been canceled. The Committee of the Whole Meeting scheduled for tomorrow evening at 6:30 is being rescheduled to Monday, January 13th beginning at 6:30. The make-up day for tomorrow’s snow day will be Monday, January 20, 2025. Information about the make-up day will be shared with our families later this week. Thank you.

If you are registering as a kindergartener, please follow these steps: 1) Go to https://www.swsd.k12.pa.us/page/district-registration to complete the online Kindergarten Registration. 2) After you fully complete the online registration process, you will be contacted by the school for next steps.
